What to Expect During a Free Estimate

Here's what you can expect during one of our free in-home estimates: 

1. Initial Walkthrough and Questions

When one of our expert inspectors first meet with you, they will ask for a quick initial walkthrough of the home. While you show them around your home, the inspector will ask you questions like: 

• How long have you lived in the home? 
• How long have you noticed the problem? 
• What about the problem concerns you? 
• How often does it leak? 
• What damage(s) has the problem caused you? 
• Have you noticed mold? 

These questions will help the inspector understand the context of your story and how best to come up with solutions that are right for the home! 

2. Inside and Outside Inspection 

The inspector will then move on to do a more in-depth look at the interior and exterior of the home in order to come up with the improvement plan. Below outlines this process: 

• Inspection tools will be placed on the basement floor
• The inspector will create a sketch of the basement 
• Measurements of the space will be taken 
• A laser level will be used to find the low spots along the basement's perimeter or bowing walls
• Additional inspection tools will be used to identify other structural or moisture problems. A few of these tools include: 
  • Thermal imaging camera
  • Hygrometer 
  • Powerful flashlight
  • Tape measure 
• Identifying obstacles that the production team may need to know (water heater, water lines, plumbing lines, etc)
• Inspecting the outside of the home for cracks, gaps or movement 
• Pictures and videos taken 

3. Customized Plan and Estimate 

Once the thorough inspection is done, the consultant will sit down with you and go over the findings and quote. Any questions or concerns can be answered and a written quote will be provided. This free quote includes the products advised to fix the issues and the price point.
